Monday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: Dn1:1-6, 8-20, Lk 21:1-4
God takes note, rewards and sanctifies every little effort made towards good. The two copper coins of the widow aren’t much; but, it is a lot to the lord who discerns the heart of the widow.
The same can be derived from the first reading, where are the four youngsters choose to abide by the values set by their faith. When did choose not to eat meat, so as to not become unclean, God blesses their effort and bless them to reach them to elite positions.
Questions for reflection: what motivates my efforts? Vainglory or goodness? how much do I strive to do good, to stand for values, for truth?
