Friday of the Twentieth Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: Ru 1:1, 3-6, 14B-16, 22;Gospel Mt 22:34-40
Praise God. In the midst of difficulties and troubles or when we are confused to make a decision, we tend to be like the lawyer who is depicted in the Gospel today. We often test the Lord by asking for signs and symbols may be out of helplessness. In the Gospel today we see a lawyer who is well versed in laws and restrictions are asking Jesus a question with the intention of testing Jesus or putting him in trouble.
We in our day to day life get into the shoes of this lawyer and intentionally create troubles in the life of others. The little knowledge we possess makes us think that we are greater than others. It naturally welcomes pride and jealousy into our life. It is not too late to become aware of our inefficiency to be humble to accept others in our life. Jesus wants us to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. You have to have great courage and humility in order to attain such a state of life. Do not consider anyone as a threat in your life rather consider him or her as a blessing from God to help you out in your life situations.
