17 Dec 2019: “I know the plans I have for you”

Tuesday of the Third Week of Advent
Readings: Gn 49:2, 8-10, Gospel Mt 1:1-17

The gospel reading of today presents to us the genealogy of Jesus Christ. The genealogy reveals that Jesus Christ came from the tribe of Judah. The first reading that the church has given us to meditate presents clearly that the tribe of Judah will have ever flourishing roots and branches as prophesied by patriarch Joseph. All this reveals to us that the plan of God existed before all ages and is being fulfilled in everyone’s life. Is it not a greater assurance that god has a specific and unique plan for each of us? Today as we are already in the days of novena in preparation for the solemnity of Christmas, let us become aware that God has a unique plan for each of us from before the ages, and that we need to cooperate with Him as Christ did in order that His plans are fulfilled in and through our life.
Prayer: God our Father, grant us the grace to discern your will in our life, amen.
