Readings: Wis 7:22B–8:1, Lk 17:20-25
Jesus in today’s gospel says that the kingdom of God is already amidst us. Jesus, the son of God was present in their midst and they were not able to recognize them. Now let us take a look at the kingdom of God. What is the kingdom of God? According to me the kingdom of God is state where we are able to experience god and able to be with Him. Now Jesus the Son of God was with them and still they didn’t recognize him. Though Jesus himself said that the kingdom if God is amidst them, they still couldn’t make it out. In our life too often the situation is similar. We are able to experience the solid presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, and still we often fail to experience his presence and keep on expecting the kingdom of God. We must experience the presence of Jesus and live a life according to his teaching to experience the kingdom of God in our life.
