Readings: Rom 15:14-21, Lk 16:1-8
In today’s parable Jesus depicts a steward who is shrewd rather than unjust. He, having known that his master is taking away his post as the steward, plans for the future. He acts shrewdly that his master doesn’t suffer lose. It is his share that he cuts from the debtors. Thus he makes both his master and debtors happy. This steward acts shrewdly to secure his future here on earth. As the children of God do we really act promptly, shrewdly to secure the Kingdom of God? How eager are we in doing things that count for eternity?
