Gabriel Marcel, a French Philosopher, Playwright and Music Critic says that to tell someone “I love you” is to tell that person “Thou shalt not die” (Marcel, Being and Having, p. 67). This does not mean that the loved person will not die physically. It means that the loved person will not die in one’s heart. Even after the person has died one will continue to cherish the memory of that person, carry that person in one’s heart. That person will always remain alive in one’s heart.
