Reading 1Rv 5:1-10; Gospel Lk 19:41-44

Jesus is weeping over Jerusalem, it’s city and its people. His heart is literally bleeding for them. These are the chosen people of God, from the beginning, but they kept falling, kept failing and going far away from the Lord. They followed the law that Moses gave them, but they lost the essence of worship. Their lips and hearts did not sync together for God the Father. Jesus knew that as they kept the laws they would be judged by it too, grace would not come into play, as they did not believe in Him, the son of God. He spoke to them, he did so many miracles, but their hearts were hardened, and they refused to believe. Jesus knew the end result of this-total destruction of the city, the temple and it’s people. And he is grieved and He weeps.
