Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Reading 1Rv 4:1-11 ; Gospel Lk 19:11-28
This parable seems a little harsh for many to digest,as the nobleman seems unjust in his dispersement of profits gained. That’s because we are looking at it from a physical point of gain, loss and profit. What the Lord wants to convey in a very unwavering manner is ,about the spiritual significance of this parable, far beyond its short term monetary benefits or losses . The Lord has blessed each of us with spiritual gifts (Ephesians 1:3),some much, some more and some little, but everyone is blessed, there is no doubt about that. And it’s our duty to use these spiritual gifts to build His kingdom (which is the primary reason for our existence here on earth). We will be held accountable for what we do with our spiritual gifts .If we multiply our gifts we will be blessed, but if we bury our gifts and do not use them to bless others,we will be held accountable and will have to face the wrath of God on judgement day.
