3 August, 2017: The Day of Judgement

Thursday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time

Reading 1: Ex. 40. 16-21, 34-38; Gospel: Mt. 13.47-53

As already seen in the reflections of this week, we know that the Kingdom of God on earth embraces all irrespective of being good or bad. Till the last day of judgment, one is given an opportunity to choose  between good and bad. But on the day of Judgment, the angels will come to separate the evil from the righteous. On that day, we will be left with no choice. Today’s Gospel reminds us that the day of judgment is not far and invites us to mend our ways to become the children of God. Amen.
