Wednesday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
The servant who knew the master’s will and didn’t act according to it, will be punished… All to whom much has been given, much will be required. And of those to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be asked.
We have all been called to proclaim his good news. We are called to love. May the world know that we are Christians by our love. This is the will of the master. Even after knowing his will, even after knowing that much is required of us, we behave like we have not known him, as not having known his teachings. Today’s readings are very clear and direct. The Lord has asked us to remain vigilant and not take him or his teachings for granted. Let us not think the teaching is meant for somebody else. He is reasonable and just and you will be asked to give account according to what was given to you. And may we be prudent enough not to be found wanting, when the time comes, for time is no man’s slave.
