20 July 2019; Fulfill His Will

Saturday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Readings; Ex 12:37-42; Gospel Mt 12:14-21

Praise God. In the gospel today we see Jesus moving away from the Pharisees when He was aware of their plan to destroy Him. Jesus did so because His mission was not completed on earth, whereas we see in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus surrendering to the hands of his persecutors as the fulfilment of the will of His Father.

Dear reader, examining our life we come across many obstacles which prevent us from fulfilling the will of our Father in heaven. Sometimes it may be some of the bad habits we have, or some additions which we are into, or some relationship we keep, or some gadgets which we possess etc. Jesus is exhorting us to move away from all those barriers which forbid us from accomplishing the will of the Father in our life. “For this is the will of God, your sanctification.” (1 Thess. 4 /3) “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thess. 5 / 16-18) Therefore, move away from all activities, which prevent you from being happy, or being a prayerful man or a grateful human being.
