Monday of the Thirty-third Week in Ordinary Time

Reading 1: Rv. 1: 1-4, 2: 1-5: Gospel: Lk. 18: 35-43

Three points to ponder on,in this miracle that Jesus performs.
1-The beggar was physically blind, but he was well aware of the happenings of his time .So the moment he heard the news that Jesus is passing by,he doesn’t question, who is this Jesus,he knows who he was and he shouts out “Jesus son of David have mercy on me.”This indicates he knew his savior.
2- Jesus is surrounded by many people and their noise all around, but He hears the cry of the blind beggar and stops in his tracks to minister to him. This indicates that the Lord listens to all our prayers and cries for mercy.
3- Jesus knew the beggar was only physically blind, his spiritual eyesight was perfect ,so he had to  speak only the word of healing and the beggar regained his sight instantly. This indicates we need to get spirituality healthy first then our physical healing will follow easily.
