Thursday of the Third Week of Easter
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son to redeem the world”
God’s unconditional love for the fallen humanity made Him to send His only Son Jesus to the world to die for our salvation and Jesus His only son willingly accepted the passion and death to do the will of His Father and for the unconditional love for each one of us. The followers of Jesus did give up their lives for the love of Jesus their Master and Lord. Just as Jesus saved the humanity through His passion and death we as Christians, faithful followers of Jesus Christ has the great duty to save the humanity.
Jesus in today’s gospel says, “I am the living bread, whoever eats this bread shall live forever. Just like Philip who broke the words of eternal life to the Ethiopian eunuch and he in turn received Jesus the bread of life. Our Christian vocation should be a road map for others to find Jesus. People who have not experienced Jesus should encounter Jesus in the lives of each one of us Christians. Remember we have a God, who taught us to love with a loving heart, who promised, “Knock and the door will be opened to you”. “May your kingdom come” this was his prayer of hope. Look at His parables, a shepherd who search for the strayed sheep, a father who never closes the door to His prodigal son, A God who forgave His enemies even when He was dying.
Let us imitate Him, manifest Jesus through our words and deeds.
