Monday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Our God is an amazing God. His deeds are just to be wondered at and praised for ever. He never demands that which is not made known. He doesn’t expect back without providing the opportunities. He offers the capabilities and wants us to improve our standard of life. The readings of today are clear examples of this fact.
The first reading states that God has given everything needed for life and true devotion; He has brought us to know God Himself; He has given us the guarantee of something very great and wonderful to come, through which we will be able to share the Divine Nature. Everything has been given to us.
The Gospel reading also shares the same fact. God, as the owner, planted a vineyard, fenced it around, dug out a trough for the winepress and built a tower. Only then He gives it for lease.
Yes dear believers in Christ Jesus. It is true of our journey towards heaven. He has done everything. He has given us the commandments, taught us lessons, preached parables, worked wonders, and has given us a road map in the beatitudes and just expects us to follow this line to reach Him. Let us become faithful to this great call while wondering and praising Him at all times.
